DESIGNER POLICY

  1. Purpose

    1. SHAPL’s mission is to produce quality products that consumers want through discovering innovative designers via SHAPL Design Contest
  2. Plagiarism

    1. By entering, participants warrant that to the best of their knowledge: (1) their entry is an original idea; (2) they are authorized by the owner of the design to enter the design in the contest; and that (3) the design does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
    2. The infringement of intellectual property rights such as the design of such facts or the design of the plagiarism is confirmed, SHAPL take measures such as removal of the design, cancellation of the prize and the production.
    3. Anything that increases the number of likes or through the use of automatic systems or any improper methods for your own financial gain will be prohibited. All accounts that are found in the violation of such regulations may be removed from the participation and the prize will not be distributed.
  3. Design Copyright

    1. If your design gets selected for production, we will provide production bonus. Your design copyright will be attributed to SHAPL.
    2. Contest progress will be followed by SHAPL internal regulations.
    3. The prize money include remuneration for the use of designer’s copyright.
  4. Prize Money Regulations

    1. All federal, state, local, municipal, income, and other taxes (if any) including transaction fees are the sole responsibility of the winners.
    2. The currency rate will be contingent upon SHAPL’s appointed prize distribution date. We will distribute in US dollars (after 4.4% tax deduction, but tax amount may vary depending on countries).
    3. he prize will be distributed only to passport holders (for identification reasons).
  5. Participant Regulations

    1. The Contest is open worldwide, except where prohibited or restricted by national or local law.
    2. Entries may be submitted by an individual or a design team. Team members may also submit entries on their own, provided those entries are substantially different than entries submitted by the team.
    3. The participant, whether an individual or a team, may submit multiple different entries to the Contest, and may submit multiple entries per category, but each entry must be a substantially different design idea. If the same design idea is submitted more than once, the entries will be disqualified.
    4. Any material relating to the submission may be used for the purpose of SHAPL Design Contest promotional work, i.e., the materials (print and online), websites, press releases, and media toolkits. SHAPL may not alter or amend the material without the written agreement of the designer. Participants that do not win a prize don’t hold the right to refuse exhibition or publication of their work.
  6. Sponsors / SHAPL Regulations

    1. The Contest may be terminated at the Primary Sponsors' sole discretion.
    2. The Contest Sponsors assume no responsibility for any problems or technical malfunction of any communications network or lines, computer systems, servers, software, Internet service providers, or e-mail systems; failure of any entry to be received on account of technical problems or incomplete, late, lost, damaged, illegible or misdirected electronic communications; or any combination thereof, including damage to entrants' or anyone else's computer equipment related to or resulting from participation.
    3. Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this Contest as solely determined by the Sponsors. In the event the Contest is compromised by non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsors that corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Contest, the Primary Sponsors reserve the right to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest. Caution: Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsors reserve the right to seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent permitted by law.
    4. By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; (2) any claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred in entering the Contest, but in no event attorney's fees; and (3) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damage
